AND for said video shooters to stop feeding the 'evil corporations' of the world by buying video editing equipment from foreign manufacturers at inflated credit card prices.
But then, that kind of introspection is only applicable to everyone else, right? http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif
Roger

That would make it outrospection, not introspection.
First of all, I bought all of my high ticket purchase items LOCALLY....paid my state taxes, unlike the majority of people who buy out of state to avoid state sales tax.
Secondly, by buying locally, I help keep the local business in business, they employee people, and the business pay taxes.
Thirdly, it's not as if I have chosen foreign over american, there is no american alternative.
But I do try to conserve gas, and recently was able to up miles per gallon on my car from 22 to 27.5 miles per gallon.
Every little bit helps.
And of course, the issue isn't anyone being better than anyone else, it never was, the issue has been just reduce our dependence on other countries resources whenever possible and practical, rather than simply accuse them of being jealous to our "superior" way of life and believing our stuff doesn't stink in the least.

Wrong again. I didn't even mention your name on this thread. Glad to see you're thinking of me.
I'm touched. :]

Nonsense.
I've read this thread from top to bottom as well as the other thread. Chas didn't flame you. He made some observations about you that seem spot on, to me:
You DO seem to spend 3/4 of your day posting.
You DO have your own discussion board where someone named "Alex" seems to do the most talking.
You DON'T shoot film at all, these days, and certainly not Super 8 in years.
Instead of addressing these issues, you called Chas an ingrate and a fool. Now THAT'S flaming, big guy.
But, considering that you now seem to shoot video exclusively (the supposed arch-nemsis of super 8, according to you) why should we expect you to practice what you preach?
Typical Alex-speak.

Let's see: The evil corporations are against Alex. The government is against Alex. Skanks are against Alex. Me, Matt and Chas are against Alex.
Poor Alex.
Look, there are plenty of people on this board that disagree with me every day and act with civility because that's their nature and NOT because they were forced to by the moderator of this forum.
A grudge? Please. A better memory than yours is a more accurate description.
Roger
You know, I don't care about this pissing match...I really don't. I mean the guy obviously has social problems and can't relate well to people other than those few friends I'm sure he has in the cyber-world.
I feel kind of sorry for him.
But what I really cannot understand is why every single time I've brought up the subject of current S8 filming activities or what S8 films he's at least planning to make (which is getting back on the S8 track here)he NEVER responds. Give him the smell of a slight jest and he'll run with it screaming that people are out to get him, but ask him an honest question -- which I've asked several times in the past -- about his current S8 status -- and he'll dodge it everytime.
Interesting.

That is priceless.

Can we please steer this thread back to something more productive than a pissing contest. I must insist on it.

Uhh...correct me if I'm wrong, dear Alex, but I don't recall starting this post.
There goes Alex, making friends and influencing people. Glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't agree with him.
